Dragon Search Offers Hands-Free Web and iTunes Searches

iPhone: Nuance, makers of the Dragon Dictation app that surprised us with its accuracy, have released another free-for-now voice-to-text app, this one offering to search the web, Wikipedia, Twitter, iTunes, or other locations based on what you say.

It works similar to Dragon Dictation—hit the red button, say your search query, and the tab-separated app will search the Google, Yahoo, or Bing (depending on what you have set as a default in mobile Safari), but can pass that query onto YouTube, Wikipedia, Twitter, or the iTunes Store, the last being a kind of unique tool for grabbing tunes while driving. We’d presume the voice recognition engine is fairly good, like Dictation, and might come in handy when you’re unable to spend the time tapping out your searchable items.

Dragon Search is a free download, requires the iPhone OS 3.1 or later.
